Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1997. Stopped in 2002 after 60 issues.

The series takes place sometime in the future, where a political and drug-addicted author named Spider Jerusalem settles in The City to finish two books for his publisher. During that time he comes up against a crooked mayor, and he also catches a mentally disabling disease.
