MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1949. Stopped in 1967 after 194 issues, but continued under another publisher until 1973 (14 issues).

The Old West legend of The Phantom Ranger dates back 300 years and tells of an unnamed, orphaned white boy who eventually became the leader of the Navajo tribe in a fight against evil. Nowadays a white, masked man on his white horse Demon has occurred following the legend, known by the Navajos as Kina the Deathless One.

Periodically the title on the front covers omits the definite article The.
