MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1951*. Stopped in 1952 after 11 issues.

The series features a courageous - and slightly bumbling - farmboy known as Oaky Doaks, who is determined to help King Corny as a good subject. To that end Doaks constructs a suit of armour from a tin roof, mounts his father's plough horse Nellie, and sets off to perform good deeds. He also has a romantic inclination towards Princess Pomona, who constantly needs rescuing.

* The series also ran as a newspaper comic strip from 1935 to 1961.
