MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1976. Stopped in 1977 after 7 issues.

The main character is the canine Penrod 'Penry' Pooch who fights crime as the masked Hong Kong Phooey. He is a  janitor working at a police station, and he relies on a martial arts correspondence-course handbook titled The Hong Kong Kung Fu Book of Tricks. But he is clumsy and clownish and not very good at following the instructions. Luckily, he has the more able pet cat Spot by his side.
