The series premiered in 1993*. Stopped in 1998 after 18 issues, but it is still published as a newspaper strip. The title
character, bearing the nickname Pinhead, was inspired by - and named
after - the freak sideshow artist William Henry Johnson, who performed
in P.T. Barnum's circus empire under the stage name Zip the Pinhead. * The character was first seen in 1971, and was from 1976 published as an underground newspaper strip. |
