MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1993*. Stopped in 1998 after 18 issues, but it is still published as a newspaper strip.

The title character, bearing the nickname Pinhead, was inspired by - and named after - the freak sideshow artist William Henry Johnson, who performed in P.T. Barnum's circus empire under the stage name Zip the Pinhead.
Zippy is usually wearing a yellow clown suit and a bow on the top of his pointy head assembling his few strands of hair. He spends his time travelling and commenting on diverse events and contemporary issues, often in somewhat nonsensical associations.
The contents of the series on this page are reprints from newspaper strips.

* The character was first seen in 1971, and was from 1976 published as an underground newspaper strip.
