Personal dates: Founded in 1916 by the brothers Edward (1878-1955) and Albert Wadewitz. Publishing of comic books began in 1932. Stopped in 2001.

: The corporation published most of its comic books via subsidiaries, some of which were Dell, Gold Key, and Whitman.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1940. Stopped in 2011 after 720 issues (from issue #599 titled Walt Disney's Comics).

The series contains a massive number of independent Disney funny animal characters primarily Donald Duck.

The magazine has been distributed by several of Western's subsidiaries over time, but the first 89 issues did not include their logos on the front covers.
