The series premiered in 1949. Stopped in 1989.

The series' all dominating character is the jovial, middleaged janitor (Vicevært in Danish) Manfred Olsen, whom we follow on his job, usually with his trusty broom in hand, and in the upstairs apartment with his family.
Olsen, presented as a relaxed and talkative janitor, was a dying breed long before the series stopped, but the readers really took him in and loved the very played down events featuring the steadfast and philosophical man with his beret and smoking pipe.
