The series premiered in
1979. Stopped in 2009.
This is the continuing saga of Norse
mythology as it unfolds in the realms of Asgård,
Midgård, and Udgård (Asgard, Midgard, and
Utgard in English). The albums follow the many
tales rather closely and they emerge in both
adventurous and humorous settings. The stories
manage to tell about most of the multiple
characters such as Odin, Thor, and Loke (Oden,
Thor, and Loki), but it also, for some of the
time, includes the human children Tjalfe and
Røskva. Furthermore, a special troll youngster
was invented for the series; the headstrung
maverick's name is Quark, and he later starred in
his own series.
The English title Valhalla
(Valhal in Danish) refers to the name of the
chief God Odin's castle, which is also the
gathering point for all the Gods.
