MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2002. Ongoing.

The stories are partly built on the life of the Japanese swordsman and rōnin (a lordless Samurai) Miyamoto Musashi AKA Shinmen Takezō, who lived in the first half of the 1600s mainly as a wandering swordsman. He invented his own excellent strategy of swordsmanship, and he was never defeated in battle.
