The series premiered in
1947. Stopped in 1962, but has been shortly
revived a few times since.
The title character is a Colonel in
the Planeteers, a police force patrolling outer
space in the 21st century. At his side in the law
enforcement spacecraft (named Ace of Space) he
has Captain Brent Wood. They spend their time
neutralizing space monsters and fighting space
pirates. The adventures are most often
constructed as intriguing and challenging
mysteries or whodunnits, in which the reader is
invited to solve diverse puzzling events before
our heroes.
