MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1950*. Stopped in 1972 after 140 issues (for the last 10 issues the series was retitled to Son of Tomahawk (sometimes mentioned as Hawk, Son of Tomahawk)).

The title character's real name is Tom Hawk. He is a Western frontiersman, who has also served under George Washington in the many wars before the founding of the United States. Hawk is an accomplished horseman and hand-to-hand fighter, which has earned him his nickname from the Iroquois Indians. On his numerous adventures he is mostly accompanied by young Dan Hunter.
