MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1949. Stopped in 1962 after 153 issues.

The two title characters are Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse, and all the stories focus on their neverending rivalry resulting in violent chases and fierce battles. Usually, Jerry gangs up with a sidekick, a small orphant mouse named Nipples.

The full title of the series was initially Tom & Jerry Comics, but later changed slightly to Tom and Jerry Comics.

The series is based on an animated short cartoon series that ran from 1940 to 2008.
