The series premiered in 1973. Stopped in 1975 after 140 issues.

This weekly magazine featured diverse articles especially on films and sports as well as different types of national and international comic book stories.

The title's artificial word was constructed from the French words for Hebdomadaire and Optimiste meaning Weekly and Optimistic in English. The title changed to Tintin Nouvelle from #131.
