The series premiered in
1977.
The main character, Thorgal
Aegirsson, is a Norse Viking of the more
sensitive type. At least, the heroic figure is
described as a pure man with human feelings. He
lives in the legendary times when the world of
Gods and the world of men were close together.
Thorgal is on endless, perilous journeys where he
meets belligerent men and alluring women, and the
scenes are all played out in breathtaking
settings.
