Name: DC (American comics corporation).
Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1976. Stopped in 1981 after 47 issues, but has been revived several times since then in shortlived series.

The core members of the organization come from Justice League and include Aquaman, Batman, Robin, Superman, and Wonder Woman. They, along with a number of other superheroes, take on all the supervillains they can lay their hands on. 

The series is based on an animated television cartoon show that ran from 1973 to 1986 (109 episodes).
