This post-apocalyptic series outlines the breakdown of society due to the accidental release of a substance invented by the military for biological warfare under the codename Project Blue. The resulting influenza virus causes a pandemic that kills most of the population on Earth.

The series is based on the American author Stephen King's novel titled The Stand.
