The series' title character is Richard Wentworth, an American army officer with a high level of special training such as athletics, stamina, and weaponry, all skills that help him in his vigilante double life.

This series must not be confused with other series bearing the same title. Examples: The first series began in the USA in 1940, and a British series was published from 1965 to 1969.
