MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1988. Stopped in 1990 after 28 issues, but has been revived several times since then.

The stories tell about paranormal investigators, who actively chase and capture mischievous or evil spirits. Some of the recurring characters are Egon Spenkler, Janine Melnitz, Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz, and Winston Zeddemore. A popular participant, who even received his own series, is the green mascot Slimer.

The basic plotline elements derive from the 1984 film titled Ghostbusters.
