The series is a police drama starring three young, undercover crime fighters named Lincoln Hayes, Julie Barnes, and Peter Cochran. Being products of the socalled flower power era they deal with contemporary, diverse issues such as racial politics and drug culture.

The series is based on a TV series that aired from 1968 to 1973.
