MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1993. Stopped in 1998 after 35 issues.

The title character is a vagrant who alternates between living in the real world and a world of his own called The Outback. Here he is the strong protector of the Jungle Queen (also referred to as the Leopard Queen), who, in the real world is a social worker named Julie Winters. She in turn is pursued by Mr. Gone, a serial rapist, whom Maxx tries to eliminate.
