Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1960. Stopped in 1964 after 26 issues.

The title character is a typical American teenager who aspires to have popularity, money, and lots of girlfriends. Unfortunately for him he has little success in all these areas, but he manages somehow anyway.

The series derives from an American TV sitcom that aired from 1959 to 1963 (147 episodes).
