This is a so-called underground comix meaning that the stories take up usually banned subjects such as drinking, drugs, and sex. The primarily right-wing, anti-establishment views in the stories are presented by three lazy and egotistic hippie brothers, Phineas Phreak, Fat Freddy Freekowtski, and Freewheelin' Franklin.

Sometimes the series is called Those Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.
