Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1952. Stopped in 1957 after 40 issues*.

The series follows two famous comedians on various, fictitious (mis)adventures all over the world. The starring characters are Dino 'Dean' Paul Crocetti Martin (1917-1995) and Joseph 'Jerry' Levitch 'Lewis' (1926-), who were some of the USAs greatest entertainers in films and on stage for decades.

* The series continued with Jerry Lewis as the starring character under the title The Adventures of Jerry Lewis from 1957 to 1971 (84 issues).
