MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1954*. Stopped in 1959 after 26 issues.

The series is based on a real person by the name of Woodward Maurice 'Tex'  Ritter, who was a performer in film, television, and song. The comic series focuses on his adventures as a righteous and brave sheriff in the Old West.

The series is a spinoff from Ritter's films (1936-1973).

* Initially, Fawcett Comics published the first issues from 1950 to 1954 (20 issues), until Charlton took over the rights.
