MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1996*. Stopped in 1999 after 23 issues.

The main characters are a team of 4 anthropomorphic turtles, trained in the martial art of Ninjutsu, who have their homebase in the storm sewers of New York City. They battle everything from petty criminals to alien invaders.
The characters are: The leader Leonardo (Leo), the easy-going Michelangelo (Mike), the scientist Donatello (Don), and the fierce Raphael (Raph).
