Tanguy and Laverdure are two French Mirage fighter pilots who travel to French influenced hotspots abroad - especially in Africa - in order to solve conflicts. On the home front they also have their run-ins with colleagues and superiors.
Michel Tanguy is the intelligent problem solver, while Ernest Laverdure mostly acts as his more carefree sidekick.
