Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1966. Stopped in 1972 after 36 issues.

The starring character is a British musician in the heydays of The Beatles. He settles in Plainsville, USA, where he wishes to lead a normal life far from screaming teenage fans, but his glamourous past catches up with him. Some of his friends are Cookie, Cynthia, Kenny, Malibu, Oobi-Doobi, Penny, and Sylvester. Scooter's real name is not disclosed, but his nickname derives from his usual transport vehicle.
