The series premiered in

The series stars Tom Corbett, who, with several
other colleagues from the Space Academy use their rocket cruiser
named Polaris for travels in space. Usually, they are searching
for a missing person or finding strange civilizations on faraway
planets.
The series is a spinoff from 4 TV
series that ran from 1950 to 1955.
The
full title of the series is Tom Corbett Space Cadet.
