MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1970. Stopped in 1973 after 13 issues.

The starring character, a brown bear, is a forest ranger in a wood, where he patrols campsites in order to reduce the risk of wildfires and stop littering. He is often accompanied by several forest friends such as Benny Bunny, Bessie Pig, Blinky Crow, Floyd Fox, Mayor Owl, and Peggy Porcupine.

The series is based on a mascot of the United States Forest Service, and was created in 1947 as an advertising campaign for prevention of forest fires.
