MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1993. Ongoing.

The series follows the basically dysfunctional family Simpson portrayed satirically as an American middle class family living in the fictional town of Springfield.
Homer is the lazy and rather ignorant head of the family, while Marge is the stereotypical happy homemaker and mother of three. They are: Bart the oldest child who is an underachieving troublemaker, Lisa the middle child who is a very intelligent activist, and Maggie the youngest child who is perceived to be even more intelligent although it is hard to tell as she rarely speaks.

The series is based on the longest-running American animated sitcom series titled The Simpsons, that started in 1989 and is still ongoing (532 episodes by the end of 2012).
