MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1963. Stopped in 1974 after 120 issues, but has been revived a few times since then.

The series stars sergeant (Sgt.) Nicholas 'Nick' Joseph Fury, who fights in World War 2 (and later in Korea and Vietnam). He is in command of the First Attack Squad nicknamed the Howling Commandos. The team is mostly in the eye of the battles which also means that the group is often decimated and replaced.
After the wars Fury continued as an agent in a series titled Nick Fury.

The full title of the series is Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commandos.
