MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1957. Stopped in 1960 after 18 issues.

The title character is sergeant (Sgt.) Ernest G. Bilko, who works in a fictitious Kansas army base. He is adored by his soldiers for his many dodgy schemes such as a casino, a car rental, and a dating service. He is also a conniving and fast talking conman - with a heart of gold.

The series is an adaptation of the TV series The Phil Silvers Show, in which the series Sergeant Bilko ran from 1955 to 1959 (142 episodes).
