Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1986*. Stopped in 1990 after 50 issues.

The series is a cavalcade of stories featuring a great number of superheroes and villains in modern renderings of their first adventures. Usually, each issue focuses on a few characters.

* Initially, the series started in 1961 titled Secret Origins of Super-heroes (later renamed Secret Origins of Super-heroes and Super-villains). The series on this page represents the 3rd run that has been followed by several more shortlived series.
