The series premiered in
1969.
This English series started
as a spinoff from Garth, that ran in a
British newspaper at the time. The character of
Scarth is a young, beautiful girl who gets killed
in a car accident in 1969, but a team of
scientists manages to restore her scarred face
and reincarnate her with new life in 2170(!).
From then on Scarth travels strange worlds in
space in search of enemies and criminal elements.
In the early years Scarth appeared in
erotic settings, and the heroine was the first
British comic book character to frequently appear
naked in the ... strips.
In 1972 the title of the series was
changed to Scarth A.D. 2170 and later it
was retitled to Scarth A.D. 2195.
