MAIN STORY
The series premiered in
1916 but was actually created 3 years before, i.e.
simultaneously with Bringing Up Father.
Stopped in 1944.
The series bears clear resemblance
to Bringing Up Father especially in
drawing style. It is a humouristic - and slightly
romantic - strip featuring a married couple, the
goodlooking housewife Rosie and her hardworking
husband Beau.
The series chiefly functioned as a so-called
comic strip topper to Bringing Up Father
between 1930 and 1944. The term means that it was
situated right above the other on the newspaper
page. This position caused a special mixing of
the two series in April, 1938, when Beau
absentmindedly climbed down into the first panel
of Bringing Up Father only to arrive in
Maggie's and Jiggs' living room.
