Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1961. Stopped in 1965 after 29 issues.

The title character, Richard 'Rip' Hunter, is the leader of a gang of time travellers, who move in accurate historical settings in diverse eras. Sometimes Hunter joins forces with superheroes, and he is a skilled martial artist.

The full title of the series is Rip Hunter... Time Master.
