MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1942. Stopped in 1955 after 139 issues.

The series stars a rough cowpoke known as Red Ryder, who lives with his aunt on the Painted Valley Ranch in the San Juan Mountain Range. From there he rides his mighty steed Thunder to numerous adventures. In most of the adventures he is accompanied by his juvenile sidekick Little Beaver.
The series contains several other more or less known characters in separate stories. Examples are Alley Oop, Biff Baker, Captain Easy, Freckles, King, and Myra North.

The full title of the series is Red Ryder Comics.
