The series premiered in
1946. Stopped in 1949 after 39 issues.
The character of Raggedy Ann is a
rag doll in a dress and with red yarn for hair
and a triangle nose. Her brother, Raggedy Andy,
has the same kind of hair and nose, and he wears
a sailor's suit and hat.
The series is based on a popular children's book
series that was published from 1918 to 1977.
The initial, full title of the
series is Raggedy Ann + Andy, which was
later slightly changed to Raggedy Ann and Andy.
The series was reintroduced on a few, shortlived
occasions.
