The character of Quark is a spinoff from the Norse mythology series Valhalla (Valhal in Danish), in which Quark is a troublesome imp among the multiple other characters. In his own newspaper strip he is still a mischievous troll-like youngster, but the settings are brought somewhat up to date; for example, Quark goes to school - reluctantly, of course...
