Personal dates: Founded in 1934 by Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson (1890-1968) as National Allied Publications, but the name changed in 1937 to Detective Comics (later shortened to DC). Stopped in 2011.

Comments: The corporation's logo changed several times over the years. The selected one ran from 1976 to 2005.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 2009*. Stopped in 2011 after 27 issues.

The starring character's alter ego is Karen Starr. She was born Kara Zor-L on the planet Krypton from where Superman and Supergirl also originated. In fact, she is Superman's cousin and she has the same superpowers and abilities as he has, and she uses them to battle villains.
