The series premiered in 1974. Stopped in 1986 after 140 issues.

This monthly magazine (Mensuel means Monthly Periodical in English) featured articles and interviews as well as diverse types of national and international comic book stories.

The series' title was shortened to Pilote on the front covers from #70.
