Personal dates: Founded in 1946 as a division of Charlton Publications. Stopped in 1985. Founders were Ed Levy and John Santangelo.

Comments: Charlton published stories from all genres of the comic book universe. The company was known for its low-budget activities that included the publishing of previously unpublished material from bygone companies.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1972. Stopped in 1976 after 18 issues.

The series contains a mixture of stories of the occult world incorporating suspense and horror. Although the stories are partly self-contained Professor Coffin AKA  The Midnight Philosopher and his assistant Arachne are recurring.
