MAIN STORY
The series premiered in 1948. Stopped in 1970.

The stories take place in the American West in the middle of the 19th century. Although they involve a large gallery of both Indians and white men, the stories evolve around the righteous Matho Tonga, the Indian chief of a tribe of prairie Indians, who has many bouts with other tribes as well as white newcomers.
In his plots Kresse sometimes used real events and then he placed his characters in the middle of the going-ons. One example is a local war in 1858 between the comanches and soldiers from Fort Arbuckle. The comanches had been kidnapping Mexican children over a period of time in order to sell them to other tribes, and the American government decided to put a stop to the slave trade.
