The series premiered in 1984. Stopped in 1987.

This is a historical series taking place during the 30-year war in Europe (1618-1648). We follow 3 Danish peasants named Karl, Ivar, and Peer, as they become mercenaries in Germany in search for gold and glory. Mostly, they fight together on the European battlegrounds, but sometimes they get separated causing the stories to develop in parallel directions.

The Danish title Lykkeridderne means The Soldiers of Fortune in English.
