Comments: Hansen was born in Denmark as Per Ruse Hansen, but emigrated with his parents to the USA when he was two years old. Later he changed his name.
Due to his series' combination of Danish and American humour Hansen has been affectionately referred to as the Victor Borge of cartoons.

 

 

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1955. Stopped in 1983.

The strip portrays a modern, single woman and her daily life. The attractive Lolly has numerous suitors, but she mostly stays home (her grandmother is living at her place!), when she is not at the office working for Mr. Quimby.

Some of the time the series was titled Lolly and Pepper. The Pepper character is Lolly's younger brother, who would occasionally appear in the strips.
