Comments: McClure was not strictly the first graphics creator - he was preceded by other artists in rapid succession among which Ed Verdier (Verd) was the first - but McClure made the panels that are remembered today.

MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1927. Stopped in 1966.

This is the continuing story of an orphant 12 year old girl named Annie who flees the orphanage and ventures on adventurous journeys accompanied by her dog Zero. While on the run they meet a variety of both sweet and odd characters and Annie seems to be able to help them all out in some way or another.
