The series premiered in
1959. Stopped in 1972.
This series' location is absolutely
unique: All events take place in Greenland, which
was at the time of the stories a Danish dominion.
We follow the daily lives of an Inuit (Eskimo)
family consisting of Lillegut (Little Lad in
English and pronounced Lillegoot) and his parents
and grandparents.
Considering the extremely isolated and
potentially eventless main location it was a feat
in itself that the Aksby's were able to continue
the series for such a long time. In the end,
though, they had to stop, and they did so in a
novel way; they sent Lillegut a letter informing
him and his family that they did not wish to
continue the series anymore...
