MAIN STORY

The series premiered in 1974*. Stopped in 2010 after 44 issues (the last one was issued by another publisher).

The many villagers of the small town of Rajevols have suddenly been subjected to the mysterious effects of a fragment from a meteorite resulting in a dramatic reduction in their bodily sizes. They now begin to construct af new and smaller village, Eslapion, that suit their new sizes. But soon the shrunken people have other types of problems to solve such as living in a world that has remained the same size.
A few of the most often recurring characters are the black and white haired Régis Renaud, the beautiful but moody Cédille, and the scientist Joachim Hondegger. 

The full title of the series at the beginning was Les Aventures des Petits Hommes.
