The series premiered in 1985. Stopped in
1989.
The main character, Julius Antoine, is a facetted
person leading an unorganized life; his relationship to his
recently deceased mother was neurotic, he searches for his
missing father, and he suffers from lolita complexes. The series
is partly a psychoanalytic journey into a bewildered young man's
mind, and filmbuffs will find several references to director
Alfred Hitchcock's suspense films especially Psycho.
Incidentally, Antoine bears a visual resemblance to the troubled
young man, Norman Bates, in that peticular film.
The
French title can be translated to The Wanderings of Julius
Antoine in English.
