The series premiered in 1990. Stopped in 2002 after 9 issues.

The stories follow a nameless man who was born in the once German Elsass (Alsace in French). He is now walking the French countryside looking for a job at the outbreak of World War 2. On his way the man meets and interacts with people from all walks of life.

The word Boche was once a primarily perogatory French slang term for a German.
